Corns Home Remedies

Licorice Home Remedy for Corns

A great home remedy for corns is to use licorice. This works best when the corns are new.  Make a paste by taking three liquorice sticks and grind them up.  Then mix in a half teaspoon of olive oil.  This should be applied to the corns when you go to bed.  Put band aids over them to hold the liquorice paste in place.  This will soften the skin over time and the corns will become smaller.

***

Stop wearing shoes that are so tight they cause rubbing which causes the corns.  Most corns will disappear when the shoe wear is changed.

Lemon as Corn Home Remedy

A good remedy for corns is lemon.  Tape a freshly cut slice of lemon over the corn and tape it on just before bed.  Leave it on all night and then remove it.]

***

Take a bulb from the herb Indian squill (urginea indica) and roast it. Then put it on the corn with some tape.  Leave it on over night.

***

If you have corns that are old and hard, the milk like juice of green figs is good for removing them.  Apply this to the corns several times a day.

Papaya Juice Corn Home Remedy

Raw papaya juice will loosen up the skin of a corn.  Papaya has digestive enzymes.  Put some of this juice on your corns three times a day.

***

At the drug store you can get corn removing plasters called corn caps.

***

Wash your feet every day and put talcum powder in between your toes and dust it into your socks before putting them on.

An effective home remedy for corns is to soak your feet in warm water with Epsom salt.  Do this for about 15 minutes every day.  After you are done soaking, use a pumice stone to remove some of the dead skin.  Then put on a thick moisturizing cream like shea butter. The one I like best is made by Ocean Lovers

To soften and remove corns have a go at this. First get some warm water, add a couple tablespoons of table salt and soak your feet in this for 20 minutes.  From the outer pealing of a fresh pineapple, cut out a small piece and put the juicy side right on the corn.  Use tape to hold it in place all night long.  The next morning take the pineapple off and soak your feet again.  It will take 4 or 5 nights depending on the size of the corn to cause it  to fall off or to come off by working it with a pumice stone.  Bromelain is a digestive enzyme found in pineapple and that is the secret behind this corn home remedy.  Bromelain is used as a meat tenderizer and sold in pill form as a digestive enzyme as well.  You might even be able to buy bromelain capsules and make a paste.  I have not tried it that way.  The effect should be the same – maybe even more so!

Castor oil is an effective home remedy for corns.  Put a drop of castor oil on your corns several times a day to soften up the thick, dead skin.  Put band aids on them to hold the castor oil in place and so it doesn’t soak into your socks.  In the course of several weeks you will see improvement.
