Dry Socket Home Remedies, Treatments & Natural Remedies



Aspirin and Salt Water

If you have dry socket, try out this home remedy and feel the instant relief it brings you. Take four to five aspirins, mash them up, and mix the powder in with some salt water to make a paste. Then take the paste and fill your empty socket. In five minutes you should feel relief from the pain and dryness.


Salt Water Rinse

If you are suffering from dry socket issues and it just gets worse after eating you should use this salt water rinse. When you eat normally the food gets stuck in your dry socket and irritates it. To fix this, all you have to do is put some salt water into a syringe and spray it into your dry socket to rinse it out. If you do this every time after you eat, it will relieve the pain. Hydrogen Peroxide

If you need a quick and easy home treatment for a dry socket, all you need to do is rinse your mouth out with hydrogen peroxide. Just put it in your mouth and swish it around like mouth wash and spit. Make sure you do not swallow a large amount of it.

One thing that dry socket causes is swelling of the mouth, which can be very painful. One home remedy for dry socket is using an ice pack on it. You should apply the pack directly over the affected area and keep it there for fifteen minutes. You should do this two to three times a day to help reduce both the pain and swelling.  


Tea Bag Natural Remedy for Dry Socket

One dry socket natural remedy you can use to get rid of your discomfort is using a cold tea bag pressed in your dry socket. The tannic acid in tea bags will act as a pain reliever and give you instant relief. You should soak a tea bag in some hot water, let it cool and place the tea bag in your mouth where your dry socket is and hold it there for twenty minutes. If you do this twice per day it will help reduce the pain.


Turmeric Dry Socket Home Remedy

If you are suffering from dry socket and would like some relief try this home remedy out for size. All you need to do is take an eight ounce glass of water and mix it with a pinch of turmeric to make a rinsing solution. You should rinse this around in your mouth for thirty seconds two to three times per day to help with pain and discomfort.
