Fenugreek

A good home remedy for gallstones is to eat a teaspoon of fenugreek seeds each evening before going to bed.  It should remove the symptoms in about a week and resolve your gallstones in a month or two.

Chicory Home Remedy for Gallstones

To cure gallstones make a tea of chicory powder.  Put a teaspoon of chicory in a cup of boiling hot water and let it steep for 10 minutes.  Then strain out the chicory and drink the tea.  Drink this twice a day for a month to remove gallstone symptoms.

Olive Oil Gallstone Elimination

Start the elimination fast in the evening of a chosen day.  Don't eat anything after noon on that day and drink no liquids one hour prior to beginning the elimination.  Every 20 minutes drink a fourth cup of olive oil until you have consumed a pint of it.  Each time you drink olive oil, take two tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice along with it.  Try to lay on your right side during this period and as you sleep that night.  A few hours later you will have a bowel movement and the gallstones will come out.  You can see them floating in the stool and they are often blue green in color.

Jethro Kloss on Gallstones

If the pain is tolerable, start with an enema of catnip tea.  Make a pot of tea with hops and lobelia and apply it hot in cloths on the area of the liver (upper right side of the abdomen).  Keep the tea as hot as can be tolerated. If these herbs are not available, then apply cloths with hot water until you can get the herbs.  As soon as possible give the patient a hot foot bath and a cup of hot tea to drink as quickly as can be done.  Make the tea from equal parts of skullcap, gentian root, hyssop and buckthorn bark.  Mix these herbs very well and put a heaping teaspoon in a cup of boiling hot water.  Every hour on the first day, drink one cup of this tea.  After the first day, drink one cup four times daily an hour before eating on one before going to bed.  This tea will cause the bile to soften and liquefy and is a tonic for the liver.  Keep up the hot packs.  A half hour after taking the tea, take 4 ounces of olive oil with 4 ounces of lemon juice that have been thoroughly beaten together.  After taking the olive oil and lemon juice have the patient lie on the right side.  Elevate the hips by putting two pillows underneath them.  The hot packs of lobelia and hops will sooth the pain and they will cause the bile duct to expand so the olive oil and lemon juice can pass. Massage thoroughly under the right ribs moving the massage toward the center of the body.  This will greatly encourage the passing of the gallstones once the hot packs and the olive oil have been given.  Take the lemon juice and olive oil for three days.  One can also use them independently as follows:  2 tablespoons of lemon juice followed by 2 tablespoons of olive oil on an empty stomach.  This information is condensed from the book Back to Eden by Jethro Kloss.

Eat Low Fat and High Fiber

To prevent or cure gallstones eat a diet that is low in fat and high in fiber.  Gallstones are crystallized cholesterol so reducing cholesterol is also important.  There is no cholesterol in plant foods.  Cholesterol comes only from meat, eggs and dairy.

Gallstones and Chinese Medicine

Accumulation is the term used in Chinese medicine to describe the appearance of kidney and gallbladder stones.  These stones can be referred to as “accumulations.”  Dietary excess and insufficient flow result in accumulations.  Cholesterol is what composes gallstones.  Kidney stones are made of oxylates and calcium.  A traditional remedy for gallstones and kidney stones is Lysmachia, jin qian cao or “gold coin herb.”  To enhance the effectiveness of this herb one can also take Artemesia Capillaris or yen chen, Bupleurum or chai hu and Gardenia seed or zhi zi.  Taking concoctions of acidic and oily foods such as lemon juice and olive oil are thought to act as a solvent to break up the cholesterol laden gallstones.  Li Dan Pian, the Chinese patent herbal medicine, also acts as a solvent and it is much easier to use than lemon juice and olive oil and it most likely is more effective.  Use this herb for 4 weeks.  You can get this herb from www dot drshen dot com. This is an effective gallstone home remedy.
