Inflammation Natural Remedies, Home Remedies & Natural Cures

 

 

Juice

If you suffer from inflammation, then one of the best natural cures is to drink lots of juices and herbal teas.  It's also a good idea to consume a diet of mainly raw foods.  This is also an excellent natural home remedy for inflammation.

Flavonoids

Inflammation can be naturally reduced and remedied if you eat foods that contain high amounts of flavonoids.  These are actually very powerful antioxidants, which are excellent natural cures for inflammation.  Foods high in flavonoids are blueberries and strawberries, although blueberries have a much higher concentration of flavonoids.  Another excellent natural home remedy for inflammation is quercetin, which is found in onions.

Pineapple Papaya

Pineapple and papaya are excellent natural cures for inflammation and should be consumed daily.  Try to eat half of a pineapple or papaya every day.  These foods contain enzymes that reduce both inflammation and swelling.  These enzymes are bromelain (found in pineapple) and papain (found in papaya).  You'll notice a big difference in your swelling and inflammation in about two to six days.  Be sure that you are eating fresh pineapple, as the canned variety is not as effective.  If you don't like pineapple, or cannot find the fresh fruit, you can also consume bromelain in pill form.

Cold Water Fish

A great home remedy for inflammation is to try to consume lots of cold water fish like sardines, salmon, mackerel and herring.  These are excellent natural cures for inflammation because these fish contain high amounts of omega-3 essential fatty acids, which are instrumental in reducing inflammation and swelling.  If you don’t want all the mercury and toxins in the fish, then flax seed oil is actually a better source of omega 3s.

Limit Saturated Fat

One of the best home remedies for inflammation is to simply limit your intake of salt and saturated fats.  If you do this, you will be pleasantly surprised by how quickly your inflammation will be reduced.

Inflammation can be naturally cured if you avoid junk food (processed food is terrible for you, anyway), white flour products, sugar and cola.  Be sure to drink lots of water and limit your intake of salt as well.

Alfalfa as Inflammation Natural Remedy

One of the best natural remedies for inflammation is to consume a large amount of alfalfa because it contains a high amount of chlorophyll and minerals, which have been shown to naturally cure inflammation.

Aloe Vera as Natural Home Remedy for Inflammation

The aloe vera plant has a myriad of health benefits.  Aloe vera juice is an excellent for inflammation.  Simply drink the juice a few times a day to reap the benefits of this amazing plant.

Flavonoids are excellent for reducing inflammation.  If you find that you're suffering from inflammation, try to consume lots of bilberry for a natural cure, as it contains lots of flavonoids.

Whenever someone in my family is experiencing some inflammation, I refer to two great natural remedies.  Both turmeric (also known as cucurmin) and boswellia greatly help to reduce inflammation.

Excellent home remedies for inflammation include yucca, red clover, pau d'arco, goldenseal, ginger and echinacea.  Try these natural remedies and you'll love how much better you feel!

Garlic

Garlic has lots of health benefits, and its anti-inflammatory benefits should not be overlooked.  Be sure to consume lots of garlic and you'll love how quickly your inflammation is reduced.  This is my favorite home remedy for inflammation.

Bacterial infections cause inflammation and should be avoided at all costs.  Not only are these infections bad for your body, but inflammation is a side effect that nobody wants to experience.  Be sure that you are consuming lots of vitamin C as a natural remedy and preventative measure against infection and inflammation.

Inflamed and infected areas can be treated naturally by applying redmond clay poultice to the area.

Inflammation can be greatly reduced naturally by consuming yucca, myrrh, goldenseal, garlic and cayenne.

I love this home remedy for inflamed areas.  Simply cover the affected area with a generous amount of garlic oil and cover with gauze.  Keep the area clean, and you'll quickly see a reduction in inflammation.

Fenugreek Tea

If you find that an area is affected and inflamed, try this great home remedy.  Simply soak a cloth in fenugreek tea and apply to the area that is affected.  This is an excellent natural remedy for inflammation.

Vitamin C is an excellent home remedy for inflammation, and is best when used simultaneously with another natural remedy.  Perhaps one of the best natural remedies to use in harmony with the Vitamin C is garlic.  Try pairing these two together for an effective one-two punch against inflammation.

Bladder and kidney inflammation are some of the worst kinds of inflammation that one can suffer from.  If this is the case with you, be sure to consume lots of cranberry juice.  This is an excellent and very effective home remedy that can quickly reduce the amount of inflammation in this area of the body.  Not only is cranberry juice a natural antibiotic, but the fact that it's a natural remedy makes it a far more desirable treatment than conventional synthetic antibiotics, because these can cause other infections in the body, most notably yeast infections.

Ginger

Ibuprofen is a commonly used anti-inflammatory medication, known as an NASAID.  These medications are harmful to the body and should be avoided at all costs.  Instead, try to naturally cure your inflammation with ginger (zingiber officinalis).  Ginger actually has the exact same medicinal qualities as ibuprofen, but without the harmful side effects.  Ginger is also wonderful for naturally treating nausea, is a great natural analgesic and helps to moderate blood suger levels in the body.

Pomegranate juice is saturated with polyphenols that are wonderful for naturally curing inflammation because they help to shrink tissue that has been saturated with fluids in the body.  To reap the benefits of pomegranate juice, be sure to consume three eight-ounce glasses of the juice every day.

Quercetin Inflammation Home Remedy

One of the most wonderful effective natural home remedies for inflammation is quercetin.  This is an excellent histamine inhibitor and anti-inflammatory compound that is found in fruits and vegetables.  You can get lots of quercetin by eating foods that have high amounts of this compound.  These foods include apples, garlic, red grapes, red and yellow onions and broccoli.  By adding these fruits and vegetables to your diet, you'll be able to greatly reduce inflammation throughout your body quickly and naturally.

Cold Water

Feet that are swollen can be treated by using the home remedy that never fails.  Treat those feet and ankles that are suffering from inflammation by simply soaking them in a bucket that is full of cold water.  Try to keep your feet and ankles in the bucket for a few minutes.  This is effective because the cold water will shrink the tissues and gives fast relief to the inflammation.  Another great way to quickly get rid of inflammation is to go for a brisk walk.  This helps to get your blood flowing and eliminates excess fluids in the body.  Try both of these home remedies to treat inflammation.

Omega-3

Omega 3 fatty acids are wonderful for treating inflammation because they contain eicosapentaenoic (EPA) and decosahexaenoic (DHA) acids.  These help to obstruct the action of the pro-inflammatory chemicals that are producted by the body.  Try to consume lots of cold water fish like trout, mackerel, sardines, tune and salmon, as these are excellent sources of omega 3 fatty acids.

One of the best ways to naturally cure inflammation is to consume herbs and foods that act as cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitors.  COX-2 (as it is referred to commonly) has been shown to trigger inflammation in the body.  To fight this, try to consume tumeric.  Historically used as a coloring agent in Indian cooking, this plant compound is an excellent COX-2 inhibitor.

An interesting natural cause and treatment of inflammation is omega 6 fatty acid.  Yes, you read that correctly.  When presented to the body in the form of linolenic acid, omega 6 gatty acids can encourage inflammation in the body.  However, when in the body as Gamma-linolenic acid (also an omega-6 fatty acid), this acid will prevent inflammation.  To get the correct form of omega-6 fatty acid in your body, try evening primrose oil.  This is a natural remedy for inflammation that is rich in Gamma-linolenic acid.

Green Tea

Green tea is wonderful for your health, and it is especially wonderful for naturally curing inflammation.  Because it contains high amounts of polyphenols, green tea regularly can prevent inflammation from becoming a chronic health problem.
