Peptic Ulcer Home Remedies & Natural Therapies

Natural Diet

One way to cure many degenerative illnesses such as a peptic ulcer and to keep that illness away is to change what you are eating. One of the best natural home remedies for peptic ulcer is to maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle. Nearly thirty years ago a doctor named John McDougall started to investigate how diet impacts our overall health and well-being. He started his work when working as a plantation physician in Hawaii. When treating Asian workers, he observed that the older generations were sick much less than the younger generations. He soon discovered that the older generations were healthier than the younger generations because they were not eating the rich western diet. Actually their diet was totally different than the western diet. It consisted of grains, potatoes, corn, and other starches with little or no animal products at all. This diet was made up of natural foods and excluded processed junk foods. After this observation he soon found out that there were other countries that had similar diets in different parts of the world. When looking at these people that ate their natural healthy diet, he noticed that they looked young, trim, fit, and had very little or no health issues. After completing his work Dr. McDougall began to develop a diet that was centered on the ideas of the Japanese and the other countries and came up with the McDougall Program. This diet took this new or old idea of dieting to a new level which included no animal products, no processed foods, no oils, and no fats. Instead the diet was made up of nothing but natural plant based foods such as grains, vegetables, fruits, and starches.
