Grapefruit

One of the best home remedies for malaria is to eat a grapefruit every day.  This is incredibly effective because of the natural quinine-like substance in the fruit.  This can actually be extracted from the fruit.  To this, quarter the grapefruit and boil it.  Then, strain the pulp.  You'll find that this home remedy is wonderful for treating malaria.

Fever Nut Plant Seeds

One of my favorite natural remedies for malaria is the use of fever nut plant seeds.  You can purchase them from an herbal or natural foods store and keep them on hand in a vial until you need to use them.  You'll need to use about six grams of the seeds with a cup of water.  Take this about two hours before you expect the onset of the paroxysm of fever.  You should also take another dose one hour after the fever has set in.  If you follow these instructions for this amazing natural remedy, you may be able to avoid the paroxysm.  Even if you still have the onset of malarial fever, you can cut it short if you follow this natural remedy.  Good luck!

Datura Plant Leaves

Datura plant leaves are a wonderful natural treatment for the tertian variety of malarial fever.  To use these leaves to treat malaria, you will have to make a pill.  Use about two and a half leaves.  They should be freshly-sprouted.  Rub the leaves with jaggery and take them about two hours before the onset of malarial fever.  This is an excellent natural treatment for malaria.

Cinnamon

An easy home treatment for malaria is probably in your kitchen right now.  Treat your malaria simply and effectively with this simple treatment.  Boil a glass of water and mix in one teaspoon of coarsley powdered cinnamon.  Add in a small amount of honey and a pinch of pepper powder.  This is a wonderful home treatment for malaria.

Chirayata as Natural Cure

Malaria fever can be treated at home using this great natural cure.  Botanically referred to as Swertia andrographis paniculata, an herb called cirayata works very well for treating fever from malaria.  This is also especially helpful if the fever is happening intermittently.  Use this herb by creating your own infusion.  Boil 250 milliliters of water that has been steeped with aromatics like cinnamon and cloves, then add fifteen grams of cirayata to the hot water.  Drink this in fifteen to thirty milliliter doses.  You'll find that your fever should break soon and be easy to manage with this great natural cure.

Lemon and Lime

If you are suffering from the quartan kind of malaria, then you will greatly benefit from using lemon and lime as a home remedy to treat the fever.  Try mixing sixty milliliters of water with three grams of lime and the juice of one lemon.  This is most beneficial when you drink it before the fever has started.

Alum for Malaria

A great natural remedy to treat malaria and give instant relief from the sweltering fever is alum.  Try roasting alum with a hot plate, and then grate into a powder.  If you can time it properly, try eating half of a teaspoon four hours before you believe the fever will start.  Once the fever sets in, follow up with half of a teaspoon of powdered alum every two hours.  This is a wonderful natural remedy.

Holy Basil

Malaria can even be prevented using the amazing home treatment of holy basil leaves. To prevent malaria, make an infusion every day using a few of these leaves.  You can also juice about eleven grams of holy basil leaves and mix about three grams of black pepper powder.  This is most beneficial when done during the cold stage of the fever.  You may find that this won't completely cure the disease, but it does a remarkable job of treating the symptoms and making the malarial fever far less severe.

Orange Juice and Water Fast

Malaria is best treated when a strict diet is followed.  One of the best natural remedies for fever associated with malaria is to have the patient fast on only orange juice and water.  This should be followed for a few days.  If the fever is very severe, then the fast should last more than just a few days.

Fresh Fruit Diet

Once the fever associated with malaria has subsided, the patient should then be allowed on a diet that consists exclusively of fresh fruits.  This should be followed for a few days.  It is important that the patient follows this diet and then adds milk after a few days.  This is a great home treatment for malaria.

Balanced Diet

Once a patient that has suffered from malaria has broken the fever and has been able to keep down a diet consisting of fresh fruits and a small amount of milk, they may then gradually begin to eat a diet of all natural foods.  While processed and pre-packaged foods should be avoided, the patient should take great care to eat mainly raw vegetables and fresh fruits.  This natural treatment for malaria should be closely followed.

Warm Water Enema

During the initial stages of the malaria, a great natural treatment is a daily warm water enema.  This should be done while the patient is still subsisting on a juice and water fast.  Not only does this help to cure the fever, but it is also an excellent way to cleanse the bowels.

Cold Pack for the Body

When suffering from malaria, one of the most uncomfortable parts of the disease is the terrible fever.  A great home treatment for such a high fever is to apply a cold pack to the entire body.  To do this, try soaking a sheet (any large piece of linen or cloth works just as well) in cold water, then wring it out well.  Then, wrap the entire body in the cloth.  Special attention should be made to the legs and torso.  It is also best if you can wrap the body twice in the cloth.  Once you have the body sufficiently wrapped with the cold cloth, cover it with a warm cover like a small blanket.  When the fever is at its peak, apply this cold pack to the body every three hours.  It should be kept on the body for an hour.  This natural home remedy treatment for malaria can be made even better if you place hot water bottles on the feet and along the sides of the body while the cold pack is applied.
