Inner Ear Pain Home Remedies & Natural Remedies

Urine for Inner Ear Pain

While this old Indian inner ear pain home remedy sounds gross and a little crazy, this works really well.  I was up all night with my infant that was suffering from severe inner ear pain.  Simply take some warm urine and soak a cotton ball in it.  Then place the cotton ball in the ear and allow it to soak for about five to ten minutes.  Then allow the urine to drain out of the ear.  I have told his remedy to several family members and while they were slightly grossed out about it, they were relieved to find how well it worked.

Vinegar

This is a great treatment for inner ear pain and ear infections, but it should be used as diluted.  Simply mix one part vinegar with two parts of saline water.  If you happen to live near an ocean, fresh salt water is an excellent substitute for the saline water.  Dab the mixture onto a cotton swab and gently apply it to your inner ear.  This can be used for children and babies, but instead of applying with a cotton swab, use an ear bulb to put the drops into the ear.  Simply tilt the head for about one minute, then tip the head and allow the solution to drain out.

Baked Onion

My son was suffering from severe ear pain and I was at my wit's end.  I didn't know what to do, and I finally found this great home remedy.  I found that baking an onion (I used a large yellow one), then cutting it in half works wonders.  After the onion is baked and sliced, I placed it in a coffee mug, then held the mug to my son's ear for about twenty minutes.  I found that this works best when the child is sleeping.  In the morning, I inquired about my son's ear pain and he said that his ear was feeling much better.

While there are many home remedies for inner ear problems and ear infections, be sure that you do not waste your money on mullein garlic oil.  I tried this home remedy on my daughter's ear infection, and it didn't work.  In fact, the ear infection began to secrete a yellow fluid, and the pain was only worse.

I had a horrible ear infection and I was suffering from terrible pain in my inner ear.  I found that my usual home remedy of ibuprofen wasn't doing the trick, so I moved on to another natural remedy.  I went to the natural food store and purchased a bottle of Apple Cider Vinegar.  I found that mixing one part of ACV with one part of tepid water is an excellent remedy for this.  Once this is mixed thoroughly, pour the solution into your ear and allow it to soak for approximately five minutes.  This remedy should be done twice daily until the pain has dissipated.  At first, you'll notice that the solution will cause a bit of pain in the ear, but it will only last for a short time before you remove the solution from your ear.

Olive Oil

Once when I was suffering from intense inner ear pain, I found that the best home remedy was to put some warm olive oil in my ear.  I then cooked some rock salt in a pan and placed the rock salt in a cotton sock and used it to draw out the warm olive oil and infection.  This is an amazing and effective natural treatment for pain in the inner ear is great because it draws any liquid out of the ear.

Tea Tree Oil Inner Ear Pain Home Remedy

One of the best home remedies for pain in the inner ear is to mix four drops of tea tree oil with a quarter cup of water to make a very effective ear drop.  While tea tree oil is a wonderful antifungal agent, it is also a wonderful natural antibiotic.  When these drops are used, you'll find that you'll feel a slight cooling feeling in the ear, but this is very relaxing and very healing.

Doctors typically prescribe ear drops for ear infections, and they typically contain acetic acid, which is only vinegar.  This is a wonderful natural treatment for pain in the inner ear.  This is effective because it creates an inhospitable environment for bacteria.   While it stings when it is first placed in the ear, it can sting, but when used effectively, it will get rid of any infections.

St. John’s Wort Inner Ear Pain Natural Remedy

One of the best things that I have found to treat inner ear pain is to use ear drops that are made of St. John’s Wort accompanied with infant motrin.  The infant motrin can be used for both adults and children.  I have used this for treating my son and he is sleeping through the night without waking up from inner ear pain.  This is a wonderful home remedy for inner ear pain.

Hot Rice

This is typically caused by a buildup of fluid in the ear.  To fix this, simply fill a large sock (a men's tube sock works well in this case) with about a cup of rice.  Heat the sock in the microwave for about one minute.  Then, press the warm sock against the ear that is hurting.  This is a wonderful natural remedy when used in conjunction with pain medication because it relieves pressure and drains any fluid buildup in the ear.

When suffering from inner ear discomfort, you need to be sure to identify the cause of the pain.  This is important because different causes of pain need to be treated differently.  Swimmer's Ear is a common infection and cause of inner ear pain, and it is a fugal infection.  This type of infection can be treated effectively with vinegar.  Be sure to dilute the vinegar with clean water and pour into the ear.  It helps the wiggle the head so that the solution goes all the way in the ear canal.  This will provide instant results, as long as the infection is caught early.

Lemon Juice

When suffering from bad inner ear pain, I typically use this great natural treatment.  I love to use lemon juice.  Simply squeeze some fresh juice into the ear and allow it to sit in the ear for a few minutes.  This works very well because it actually changes the pH levels in the ear and allows the bacteria to neutralize.  This creates an environment in which bacteria cannot live.  This is a wonderful natural remedy for inner ear pain.

Sweet Oil

When I suffered from ear infection as a kid, my mother would soak a cotton ball in sweet oil and put it inside my ear.  I would then lay with that ear facing up, and allow the oil to seep into the ear canal.

Olive Oil Onion

One of the best natural remedies for inner ear pain can be made at home.  To make the mixture, mix some chopped onions with olive oil, water and four large tablespoons of garlic over some heat on the stove.  Bring the mixture to a simmer (while stirring occasionally) or until the garlic is chunky.  Then, strain the juice into a cup.  Then, add the juice into the ear canal using a syringe or eye dropper.  Allow this to soak for about ten minutes.

Breast Milk

When I recently had a bad ear infection, I didn't have health insurance and had no way to visit a doctor to effectively treat my inner ear pain.  Thankfully, I had a two month old infant that I was breastfeeding.  So, I used some of my pumped breast milk and with a dropper, filled my ear canal with it.  I allowed the breast milk to sit in the ear canal for about five minutes.  I then allowed the milk to drain from my ear and I was surprised to find out quickly the pain dissipated.

Lobelia Extract

Pain If you're suffering from inner ear pain, try lobelia extract.  Not only is this very effective when used to treat the pain, but it helps with relaxation.

Garlic Oil

Garlic oil is a wonderful natural remedy for treating pain in the inner ear.  Simply break a capsule open and pour the contents into your ear canal.  Then, lie down on the opposite ear and allow the oil to soak into your ear for a few minutes.  After about twenty minutes, you should notice a significant change in the pain levels.  This procedure should be repeated a second time to ensure that the infection has been effectively removed.

One morning, I woke up with severe pain.  I took a small amount of ibuprofen and then was told about a wonderful home remedy.  I heated up some olive oil and the dipped a cotton ball in the warm oil.  I put the cotton ball in my ear and then went to sleep.  In the morning, I found that I was relieved on the pain and the pressure.

Apple cider vinegar is a wonderful natural remedy for pain of the inner ear canal. While this hurts for a moment at first, the results are worth the initial pain.  Simply heat the vinegar for about thirty seconds in the microwave, then carefully pour into the ear canal.  While you may experience some pain and there may be burning for a few moments, you'll find that once you drain the ear canal, you'll experience a great relief from the pressure and pain.  Be sure to test the temperature of the vinegar with your finger before pouring it in your ear.

Garlic Clove and Olive Oil

Pain in the inner ear can be remedied naturally by heating two whole garlic cloves with extra virgin olive oil.  Once the solution has been brought to a boil use a dropper and apply about four drops into the ear canal.  Top the solution with a cotton ball and drain.  You'll find that the inner ear pain will soon be relieved.  This is a great natural home remedy for inner ear pain.
