Boric Acid

Of all the home remedies for eye infection that I’ve come across; using boric acid wash has been the most successful for me.  The use of boric acid can help to get rid of infection by destroying the bacteria and viruses.  The way you use boric acid is to get some in crystal or powder form and add it to water and mix it up into a wash.  After getting the wash created; then, use it to wash your eye or eyes and actually work it into your eye to flush it out.  The boric acid eye infection home remedy cure is very time tested.

Eyebright Tea

As a good natural home remedy for an eye infection, and for immediate relief from itching and burning and to clear redness, buy some eyebright tea at the health food store. Brew a strong tea from this using 3 teabags to a cup of water.  Let is steep and cool.  When it has cooled down, rinse your eye with this infusion letting the liquid get into your eye, onto your eyeball and under your eye lids.  At first it will feel kind of tight but this will go away as you blink a few times.  Right away the itching will stop and in a day or so it will be all cleared up.

Lens Cleaner

Last time I got a pink eye infection I went to my doc and he gave me some eye drops.  It was an antibiotic and the infection didn’t disappear.  In fact, the other eye got infected too!  I looked around on the web and found a remedy for contact lens cleaner.  I used it in my eyes and in two days no more problems.  The contact lens solution has boric acid which is what does away with the germs.  It does not give any burning sensation and you can put it in your eyes as much as you want during the day.  Just keep doing it until the problem goes away.

Hello everyone. As I am writing this I am on the mend from a bout of pink eye.  I woke up with it this AM and it is now clearing up very well with only the use of Contact Lens Saline Solution.  It is because of my contact lenses that I got the infection to begin with.  My eye was all pussy and red and weeping.  It did sting and burn quite a bit.  I first thought I would go to the 24 hour emergency clinic but that’s a hassle and expensive.  So I found this remedy online.  I read on the label of the Saline Solution that it is sterile with a buffered isotonic aqueous solution which has boric acid (borate buffer system) and sodium chloride (salt) and EDTA.  So it is basically and anti-microbial disinfectant.  So I gave it a try.  The drainage and the discomfort disappeared almost right away.  The redness is almost gone and the itching is completely gone.  I couldn’t have asked any more from an expensive prescription drug!  What I used was a generic grocery store brand and I also took some Tylenol which helped.  So if you want to stay out of the doctor’s office, go to the store and get yourself a bottle of Contact Lens Cleaner aka Saline Solution.

Salt

Here is the number 1 best eye infection home remedy!  Bring about a cup or two of water to a boil and add teaspoon of sea salt.  Let it cool and then put in some cotton balls and let them soak really good and get saturated sinking to the bottom.  Take out one or two cotton balls, depending on whether you are treating one or two eyes. Lie down and put the soaked cotton balls on your eye or eyes.  Do this for about five minutes and let the salt water go into your eye.  The salt will kill the bacteria causing the infection.  This is one of the ultimate eye infection natural remedies.

Dissolve a little sea salt in some warm water.  Put a few drops of this salt solution in your infected eye every couple of hours and by the second day you should be well over your problem.
