Irritable Bowel Syndrome IBS Natural Treatments, Remedies and Home Cures

Apple Cider Vinegar

I tried every home and natural remedy to rid myself of the awful symptoms and side effects of irritable bowel syndrome.  Finally, I decided to try apple cider vinegar.  Immediately, I began to notice a huge improvement.  After a few doses (about a weeks' worth),  I don't even see any symptoms of my irritable bowel syndrome.  One dose is about a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar mixed with an eight ounce glass of water.  I drink this mixture about three times a day.  Be sure that you're using unfiltered and all natural and organic apple cider vinegar.  A welcome side effect from the apple cider vinegar is the increase in energy – I really didn't expect that! I did suffer with mild constipation for about the first three days, but I continued the treatment and everything has returned to its normal rhythm.  I never noticed that my breathing was suffering with my irritable bowel syndrome, and I've found that I'm able to have wonderful, deep breaths since I've started the apple cider vinegar treatment.  Some people like to mix baking soda with the apple cider vinegar to ease the taste, but it's important to note that the baking soda only helps to neutralize the vinegar taste; it does nothing for the actual effectiveness of this natural treatment.  Even if you're brave and like apple cider vinegar, don't drink it alone without any diluting agent, because it will definitely burn! Apple cider vinegar is also a wonderful home remedy for acid reflux and hernias as well.

Bentonite

Bentonite clay is a wonderful natural cure for irritable bowel syndrome, gastroenteritis and ulcerative colitis.  Some people would even go so far as to call this a miracle.  I have had these above named conditions since my childhood (I was diagnosed with some as young as ten years old and I am now in my forties).  There were no prescription medications that could help relieve my symptoms, and I became desperate for anything that could relieve my suffering.  I began taking a small dosage (about a tablespoon daily, but it needs to be mixed with a glass of filtered water).  I would go from about fifteen bowel movements daily to the normal amount of one to two a day.  These amazing results began immediately.  I also do not take any fiber supplements or add any additional fiber to my diet.  I really hope that bentonite clay works as well for you as it has for me.

The worst part of my irritable bowel syndrome is the diarrhea.  I did have a colonoscopy performed last year, and they decided that there were no prescription medications that would be able to alleviate my suffering.  Finally, I started taking about 5,000 mcg of biotin daily.  This gave me instant relief.  While I occasionally get a bout of diarrhea, it isn't nearly as long lasting as it was before.  Not only does biotin help with the frequency of diarrhea, but is also helps with the severe abdominal cramping and spasms.  Try this natural treatment for irritable bowel syndrome and you probably won't be disappointed.

Molasses as Irritable Bowel Syndrome Home Remedy

One of the strangest home remedies that I have ever heard of is also one of the most effective.  I began using black strap molasses to cure my irritable bowel syndrome.  My main symptoms were constipation and diarrhea (they would alternate), and this lasted for about ten years.  After a decade of suffering, I began to take the black strap molasses after doing online research.  I was so surprised to see how quickly this cured my irritable bowel syndrome.  It's amazing to me that such a simple home remedy can have such amazing effects.  I also told my sister (a fellow IBS sufferer) about black strap molasses, and she is equally happy with the results that she is having.  To properly use black strap molasses to help with irritable bowel syndrome, I would take about one tablespoon every night before going to bed.  Also, try to find the sulphured kind of black strap molasses.  While the taste isn't great (I actually think that it's downright awful), the results sure are!

Chinese Medicine

According to traditional Chinese medicine, a spleen deficiency is a key reason as to why irritable bowel syndrome is present in some adults.  Keep in mind that this is not the same spleen as in Western medicine.  Actually, the spleen in Chinese medicine is closer to the function of the pancreas in our medicine today.  A deficiency here will likely cause abdominal pain which is made worse with over exertion.  Gas and bloating are also commonly reported.  In this case, acupuncture is recommended, using specific techniques that focus on the areas of the spleen.

For the past several years, I have been suffering from irritable bowel syndrome.  Never in my life have I have a disease like this.  I have always been able to eat what I want, and I've never had a stomach issue.  I am also in excellent health.  I have tried several diets and have also eliminated several different types of food from my diet.  I found that the greatest natural remedy for irritable bowel syndrome is actually to drink bottled water.  I have not felt so amazing in years.  This is my favorite natural remedy for irritable bowel syndrome and I suggest that everyone suffering from the awful symptoms of this illness to change their water immediately.
